Our Ministries

Children

At Rocky Hill Baptist Church, we believe that children are a blessing from God.  We seek to nurture and care for each child who comes through our doors in a way that brings God glory. Our main goal is to teach them the truths of Scripture. We also enjoy helping children learn and encourage them to have fun. Our various programs include gospel-centered teaching, Scripture memory, music, crafts, activities, and games. Our hope is to faithfully pass on what God has given us in His word, and that through gospel-centered teaching, these children might come to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please check our calendar for our weekly activities for your children.

Youth

The RHBC Youth Ministry exists to establish the Mission and Vision of RHBC by equipping youth and parents with the Word. We gather together Wednesday nights from 5:45pm – 7:00pm.

In addition to regularly scheduled meetings, we gather together each month for a special game or ministry activity. In all that we do, our goal is to fulfill one of the five functions of the church: Evangelism, Discipleship, Worship, Fellowship, and Ministry.

Missions

We believe the Great Commission is an imperative command from our Lord Jesus Christ. The Church’s biblical mandate is to make disciples. This requires sharing the gospel outside the walls of the church. The Bible gives a clear model for missions ministry in the first chapter of the book of Acts 1:5. Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Our Jerusalem is right here in Knoxville. We want to reach the lost in the Rocky Hill and Knoxville area first and foremost. The place to start reaching the lost is in our own community. Second, we actively want to seek opportunities in our Judea. Our Judea is the state of Tennessee. There are great needs in our own state. Next, we want to meet the needs in our Samaria. There are many regions in North America that are considered unreached with the gospel. It is our responsibility to go to these people and share the good news. Finally we want to reach the “ends of the earth”. The Bible tells us that every tribe and tongue will one day be worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For us to share the gospel we must go to them. We have opportunities to be involved in missions both locally and abroad.

Our Membership

Church membership is one of the most important aspects of being a disciple of Jesus Christ.  We want our members to value church membership and be active in the life of the church.  A Christian can join Rocky Hill Baptist Church by one of the three methods.  First, you can join by baptism by immersion.  Baptism is the primary way a Christian confesses their faith in Jesus Christ. Second, you can join by statement of your faith and your baptism.  This is typical for a Christian who has been baptized but not placed membership in a local church.  Finally, you can join by letter.  This means a membership candidate is coming from another Baptist church or another church with like faith.

We require all prospective members to take a New Membership Class before membership is final.  This class typically takes place on a Sunday afternoon and lasts about two hours. We want everyone to know the importance of church membership and the commitment that comes with it.
