Missions at Rocky Hill
We believe the Great Commission is an imperative command from our Lord Jesus Christ. The Church’s biblical mandate is to make disciples. This requires sharing the gospel outside the walls of the church. The Bible gives a clear model for missions ministry in the first chapter of the book of Acts 1:5. Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Our Jerusalem is right here in Knoxville. We want to reach the lost in the Rocky Hill and Knoxville area first and foremost. The place to start reaching the lost is in our own community. Second, we actively want to seek opportunities in our Judea. Our Judea is the state of Tennessee. There are great needs in our own state. Next, we want to meet the needs in our Samaria. There are many regions in North America that are considered unreached with the gospel. It is our responsibility to go to these people and share the good news. Finally we want to reach the “ends of the earth”. The Bible tells us that every tribe and tongue will one day be worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For us to share the gospel we must go to them. We have opportunities to be involved in missions both locally and abroad.
