UPDATE: March 17, 2020

The staff and leadership of the church have been in regular communication as it pertains to the COVID-19/coronavirus and what steps we should take to protect our people and cooperate with government officials. The CDC has recommended that gatherings of 50 people or more should be avoided for the next eight weeks, as well as the White House advising to avoid groups of 10 or more. Through much prayer and consideration, we have made some difficult decisions.

We have canceled all activities here on campus until we can determine it is in the best interest of our people to come back together. This will include all Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities for every age group. If we follow the recommendation of the CDC, this will impact our Spring events, such as the Easter Choir Celebration, the Easter Egg Hunt, and others. As you can imagine, this a great disappointment for all of us.

We have many members who are susceptible to the virus. Many of those members were raised like I was as it pertains to church attendance. That means we go if the doors are open for anything. I wish everyone had that desire! Again, this is a difficult decision, but we feel it is the best decision based on the information we have as it pertains to actual or speculated risk.

Your church staff will be in the office as usual. If you need anything, please call on us. If you cannot get out and need something, we want to serve you. We may also call on some of our younger families to help with these efforts if the need arises. We will record worship services each week, and we will make them available on Facebook and our website. We will also post announcements and videos on these sites. We will send out more information soon to instruct you on how to view these videos. We want to make sure we are connected as the Body of Christ.

Now is the time for the Church to be a light in a community that is gripped with fear and uncertainty. We do not have to operate that way. We know with certainty that our God reigns. He is the One that owns “the cattle on a thousand hills.” He is Creator, Sustainer and Savior. He alone is sovereign. He loves His people and will provide for their every need. He took care of our greatest threat on the cross!

In Christ’s Love
